BERNYANYILAH!

Bernyanyi itu baik untuk kesehatan. Bernyanyi melatih jantung dan

paru-paru, serta melepaskan endorfin yang membuat kita merasa

senang. Bernyanyi juga meningkatkan kapasitas paru-paru, memperbaiki

postur tubuh, dan membersihkan saluran pernapasan dan sinus. Apabila

   Anda bernyanyi dengan benar, hal itu dapat menjaga kesehatan perut

   dan otot-otot punggung. Menurut sebuah penelitian, bernyanyi juga

   dapat meningkatkan jumlah protein dalam sistem kekebalan tubuh.

  

   Pemazmur tentu sepakat dengan hal itu. Bahkan lebih dari itu, bukan

   hanya bermanfaat bagi kesehatan tubuh, ia menggarisbawahi bahwa

   bernyanyi juga baik bagi kehidupan rohani kita. Dalam bahasa

   aslinya, pemazmur menggambarkan bernyanyi sebagai baik,

   menyenangkan, dan indah. Baik karena merupakan salah satu bentuk

   pujian kepada Tuhan, suatu ibadah. Tuhan sendirilah tujuan dan pusat

   seluruh pujian kita (ayat 1, 7). Menyenangkan karena mendatangkan

   sukacita; memuji dan mengagungkan Tuhan akan mendatangkan kesenangan

   surgawi bagi orang kudus. Indah atau layak karena sudah selayaknya

   kita menghormati Sang Pencipta. Sebagai umat yang diciptakan menurut

   rupa dan gambar-Nya, ketika kita menghormati Tuhan, sesungguhnya

   kita juga sedang menghargai dan mensyukuri kehidupan yang

   dikaruniakan-Nya.

  

   Nyanyian pujian tak ayal selalu hadir dalam ibadah bersama umat

   Tuhan. Namun, apakah kita secara pribadi juga mengembangkan

   kebiasaan untuk menyanyikan pujian bagi Dia? Bagaimana kalau mulai

   hari ini kita berkomitmen untuk menyanyikan paling tidak satu lagu

   pujian setiap hari? --ARS
